Chances. A random opportunity that can have a positive or negative effect on our life. A chance could be define as a gamble. If a young man who has not a lot of money could go out and use what little bit he has and start a business. He is taking a chance. This is where the positive or negative comes in. His business could catch on and take off. He would be making more money then he previously was. On the downside, his business could be a disaster, and be out of the money he used to get it started. In Mr. Higgins quote he said, "never lose a chance, it doesn't come everyday". That young man could have kept his little bit of money he had and not start a business, but he loss the chance of it becoming something great. He could of made it big in his business.
Making a living and doing your hobby. I can relate to this a good bit. When you are at home and you go out and start making tables from scrap pieces of wood that turn out great. You are enjoying your hobby. If you enjoy doing something that is fun to do and also has a service to the public or private eye. Then why not do it. I Learned over the past two years how to build with lumber from trade school. I now use that hobby I have of working with lumber to build custom shooting houses for people. When you are doing something that you loved to do and making a living of it. You tend to not have so much stress on things. You are in your comfort zone when doing a hobby. Which usually makes working a lot easier.
Overall. Never lose the chances of a life time. you never know how they may turn out. It could be the greatest thing or worst thing you ever did. Thats why I compared chances to a gamble. Always try to enjoy what you are doing for a living. Is great to enjoy a hobby and get your living out of it as well.
I think your blog post was easy to relate to and well written. I enjoyed that you related chances with starting a business because it is something I can personally connect to. I am taking a big chance just hoping to own my own business in the future; with that being said the quote you chose to include is quite uplifting.
ReplyDeleteI like that you wrote about themes that were not the most popular. I enjoy that you wrote about hobbies and it makes me want to have more time to enjoy hobbies I have.
ReplyDeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteJustin, your paper was fairly well thought out, although you needed to talk more about the themes as they relate to Pygmalion, but you lost significant points due to fragments. Your essay is riddled with them. Come see me one day before or after school so I can show you how to eliminate them.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed your essay, I do not think I could find any mistakes, but it would help if you expressed your themes more clearly. Other than that this essay is very well written.
